Elijah Merrill Cheney

Elijah Merrill Cheney has arrived. He was born Monday, April 27th at 1:10pm, 8 lbs. 3 oz., 21.25" long, and a 36 cm head. He looks perfect with an olive complexion, greyish (maybe blue) eyes and light brown hair. He is sleeping and eating well and very content. I am feeling great as well. I have a wonderful husband who has been waking up early, fixing lunches, getting the kids ready for school, going grocery shopping, running the kids to practices, giving baths, and doing dishes. My mother in law and sister in law have taken Emmett and Joleigh every morning for the past two weeks until noon, which has helped me get a good 8 hours of sleep every night and has really helped me heal and transition back into the swing of things. I have had some yummy meals brought over from friends at church and Nellie and Tiffany brought over 12 homemade freezer meals a few weeks ago (like they didn't both just have a baby), which I am saving for when I am fully on my own again. I am really grateful right now to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with beautiful, healthy children and for the great support of my family and friends. I love being a mom and I can't wait to return the help to others around me when I can.

hello there.

i came across your blog because i googled the term "elijah cheney." i am teaching sunday school this sunday and the lesson is about missionary work. elijah cheney and zera pulsipher baptized wilford woodruff. i am trying to gather pictures of everyone that is mentioned in the lesson, but i cannot find a picture of elijah cheney. i have done a bit of research on him, and i *think he was born in 1785 in england. are you related to him? if so, do you have a picture of him or know where i could find one?

i have looked through the family history website, but cannot find any pictures. i have gone through a stack of books - but can't find any there either.

here is the blurb about him in "Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

Zera Pulsipher, a convert from Ohio, is an example of those who enthusiastically shared the message of the Restoration. He joined the Church in January 1832 and recorded that shortly afterward, he “was ordained to the office of an elder and went to preaching with considerable success at home and abroad.” 12 He and another missionary, Elijah Cheney, traveled to the small town of Richland, New York, where they began preaching in the local school. One of the first converts baptized by Elder Pulsipher in Richland was a young farmer named Wilford Woodruff, who would one day become one of the most successful missionaries in the history of the Church and the fourth President of the Church. Within a month’s time, the two missionaries had baptized a number of people and organized a branch of the Church in Richland.

anyway, this probably sounds so random, but if you have a picture, or know where i could get one, that would be great! i have just printed the other pictures off the internet, in black & white. nothing fancy.

my email address is: triplea826@hotmail.com. thanks!
